Nemanja Zurovac from Novalja and Aleksandar Đurđevac from Nikšić, members of criminal organizations, were caught this evening during a search in Kotor violating the measures - leaving their place of residence, which were imposed on them by the Higher Court in Podgorica.
However, despite this, the two did not receive any sanctions, because the High Court judge ruled that there was no basis for ordering detention, that is, that they should be released without further detention, since they had already spent three years in detention as defendants since the indictment was filed.
"The checks determined that the persons NZ from Herceg Novi and A. Đ. from Nikšić - members of an OKG, violated the active supervision measure determined by the Higher Court in Podgorica, which refers to the ban on leaving the place of residence. The acting judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica was immediately informed of this event, in accordance with the law, who, after being briefed on the circumstances by police officers, declared that there were no grounds for ordering detention, and that the persons be released without further detention, given that they had already spent three years in detention as defendants," the police announced.
The police stated in a statement that these are individuals who continuously violate certain supervision measures, but due to legal restrictions, the court cannot order them detention as a more severe sanction.
