GN (37) from Nikšić was arrested on suspicion that, together with DP (27) from that city, he sold drugs to a foreign citizen, who was also arrested.
Officers of the Regional Security Center "West" - Nikšić Security Department, Anti-Drug Unit yesterday reported to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica filed a criminal complaint against GN and DP, on suspicion that they committed a criminal offense - unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
A misdemeanor charge has been filed against a foreign citizen.
"The officers of the Nikšić Security Department, namely, the day before, carried out a targeted control of two foreign citizens, during which 5,5 grams of dry plant matter suspected of being the narcotic drug marijuana were found on one of them, while a subsequent search of the premises used by this person found another 3,7 grams of the same substance. Police officers seized this substance from the scene and forwarded it to the Forensic Center for expert examination. Further criminal processing led to suspicion that GN and DP had previously sold the said substance to the said foreign citizen, after which a search of the premises used by these two persons was carried out, during which 1,3 grams of dry plant matter suspected of being marijuana were found and seized from GN," the Police Directorate announced.
The State Prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica requested that GN be arrested and that criminal charges be filed against DP for the aforementioned criminal offense.
"Police officers also filed a misdemeanor report against a foreign citizen who purchased drugs from GN and DP, for committing a misdemeanor under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse. This foreign citizen was also arrested and brought before the duty judge of the Misdemeanor Court in Podgorica - Nikšić Department," the statement reads.
