The Budva Misdemeanor Court collected 2,2 million in fines between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and a total of 2.245 days of prison sentences were served, announced the President of the Court, Marko Đukanović.

"Last year, the Court had a total of 17.972 cases in its work, of which 13.733 or 76,41 percent were first-instance misdemeanor cases 'PP' and 423 or 23,59 percent were executive IPS cases. The reporting period began with 4.876 cases transferred from the previous year, while 13.096 new cases were received in the reporting period. A total of 13.765 cases were resolved, or more than three-quarters of the cases in the work," Đukanović emphasized.

According to him, the promptness rate was 104,30 percent.

"The largest number of cases in the work came from the area of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, namely 9.696 or 70,60 percent. A more significant percentage in the structure was also made up of cases from the areas of: the Law on Public Order and Peace 1.343 or 9,78 percent; the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence 444 or 3,23 percent; the Law on Prevention of Drug Abuse 532 or 3,87 percent. In the first-instance misdemeanor proceedings, a total of 5.690 protective measures were imposed, of which 5.196 in cases formed under the Law on Road Traffic Safety, 106 in cases formed under the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, while the remaining 308 go to other areas - mostly permanently confiscated narcotic drugs in cases formed under the Law on Prevention of Drug Abuse," emphasized Đukanović.

For the same period, he added, a total of 2.245 days of prison sentences were served.

"The court collected a total of 2.213.565,27 euros in fines, procedural costs and court fees, which is a significant increase compared to the comparable year 2024 (around 175.000 euros) and is even 41 percent higher than the budget allocated for the court's work in 2025, where it should be noted that the court also achieved significant budget savings, so the percentage difference compared to the budget realization is even greater. The court achieved extraordinary work results in 2025, which are even more important because it operated with one less judge for the entire year, and in one short period with two less judges," said Đuksnović.
