Nemanja Zurovac, a resident of Novalja, was arrested for committing a misdemeanor against a foreign citizen.
The police in Herceg Novi yesterday acted upon a report by a German citizen CH that there had been a disturbance of public order on the main road in Bijela.
Zurovac was arrested for a violation of Article 7 of the Law on Public Order, and the Police Directorate announced that the arrested person is listed in their records as a person of operational interest.
"Taking measures and actions to determine all the circumstances of the incident, police officers collected information from the injured party and NZ took additional measures and actions in the field, and determined that NZ committed a violation as a traffic participant in a particularly brazen manner, where after a traffic dispute, he overtook a vehicle with foreign license plates, and then stopped his vehicle in front of the injured party's vehicle. NZ then got out of the vehicle, made offensive gestures towards the injured party C. H, and then hit the door of the vehicle driven by the injured party with his closed fist," the statement reads.
Zurovac was brought to the Misdemeanor Court within the legal deadline, where he was fined.
Also, Zurovac was sanctioned for committing a violation under Article 321, paragraph 1, item 7 of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, because as the driver of a BMW with Herceg Novi license plates, he overtook on the main road in Bijela on an uninterrupted longitudinal line.
Two days ago, during a police search in Kotor, Zurovac was caught violating a supervision measure - leaving his place of residence, which was ordered by the Higher Court in Podgorica. The Higher Court judge stated that there was no basis for ordering detention, that is, that Zurovac should be released without further detention, since he had already spent three years in detention as a defendant since the indictment was filed.
