During the past weekend, from February 13th to 15th, 51 traffic accidents were recorded on Montenegrin roads. Two people died in Nikšić, two were seriously injured, and 17 suffered minor injuries.
Traffic police officers filed 219 misdemeanor reports, issued 1.499 misdemeanor warrants, temporarily confiscated 21 pairs of license plates, and removed the same number of vehicles from traffic.
94 drivers were arrested, of which: 36 for driving with more than one per mille of alcohol in their blood or refusing to take a breathalyzer test, 23 drivers for driving under the influence of drugs or other psychoactive substances or refusing to submit to testing, and 35 drivers for committing other serious violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act.
Thirty-three drivers were arrested in Podgorica, ten each in Danilovgrad and Bijelo Polje, and five in Budva, the Police Directorate announced.
The Police Directorate once again appealed to all road users to respect traffic regulations and thus contribute to both their own safety and the safety of other road users.
