The trial of defendants Radoje Zvicer, Milan Vujotić, Veljko Belivuk and other defendants for the murders of Damir Hodžić and Adis Spahić in October 2020 in Spuž began today before a special panel presided over by Judge Nikola Boričić at the Higher Court in Podgorica.
Defendant Slobodan Kašćelan said in his defense that he had nothing to do with the murders of Damir Hodžić and Adis Spahić, stating that he was innocent and was in prison together with defendant Vladimir Vučković.
The defendant Kašćelan denied the allegations in the indictment.
"What the prosecutor read is not true. I have never had an encrypted phone or an encrypted card in my life," Kašćelan pointed out.
Defendant Vladimir Vučković said in his defense that he was in custody because of just two words: "I clear the way."
"I don't know where Stanjevic's hole is, my people. Even if you took my child to the firing squad, I wouldn't know where it is. I'm not even interested in my life anymore, I'm only interested in the hard and unbreakable truth, so that my child knows that his father is not a villain," said Vučković.
He said he felt like he was on Goli Otok.
"I worked for Slobodan Kašćelan as a security guard, which is an honorable job. I ask that you let me go home right now, I cannot accept being in custody for almost five years because of two unverified words," Vučković said.
The defendant Stevan Kraljević also denied the allegations in the indictment.
Defendants Zoran Kažić, Blagoje and Dejan Gašić, Davor and Nikša Perović stated that they were unable to present their defense at today's main trial hearing because they were unable to review the Sky material on CD at the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS).
The indictment of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) states that Zvicer ordered the kidnapping of Hodžić at the end of July 2020 because he believed that as one of the close associates of the previously murdered Alan Kožar, he knew where the latter was hiding money and drugs.
What does the indictment say?
"Radoje Zvicer, as the organizer, between the end of July and the second half of August 2020, ordered the defendants Radoje Živković, Milan Vujotić, Dragan Knežević, Marko Miljković and Veljko Belivuk to find and, at a suitable opportunity, kidnap, and then in a treacherous manner, out of ruthless revenge, base motives - intolerance and hatred and in order to establish dominance, deprive the members of the opposing criminal organization, Milo Radulović and Damir Hodžić, of their lives," the indictment states.
It is alleged that on October 14, 2020, Hodžić was driven to the village of Stanjevića Rupa near Spuži by his son-in-law Adis Spahić, who was killed that day.
In addition to Zvicer, Živković, Vujotić, Knežević, Miljković and Belivuk, there are also Marko Miljković, Ratko Živković, Nebojša Janković, Stevan Kraljević, Slobodan Kašćelan, Nenad Kaluđerović, Darko Prelević, Davor Perović, Blagoje Gašić, Dejan Gašić, Nikša Perović, Miloš Radonjić, Vladimir Vučković, Petar Đurović, Rade Garović, Mersudin Čolaković, Marko Kilibarda, Aleksandar Paunović, Nikola Spasojević, Radovan Mujović, Milan Knežević, Aleksandar Dragićević, Zoran Kažić, Aleksandar Ljumović, Borko and Bojan Bešović.
"The defendant Dragan Knežević sent photos of Radulović and Hodžić to other members of this group via the group chat of the encrypted telephone communication application SKY ECC in order to familiarize them with the physical appearance of the targets. On Zvicer's orders, Ratko Živković, using his godfather connections with Radulović, lured him to an alleged meeting at his house in Spuž on October 14, 2020. On the same day, Hodžić also came to the 'meeting'. In the meantime, Belivuk, Miljković, Janković and another three-member group were transported by Mersudin Čolaković in an off-road vehicle from Tutin to Rožaje, more precisely the town of Bać, past the border crossings.
The first to arrive at the mill in Spuž, on October 14, 2020, was Radulović, who was greeted by his best man Živković. Radulović was driven by his groom Stevo Latković in an "Audi A6" at 12:47 p.m. that day, and four minutes later Hodžić arrived, driven by his son-in-law Adis Spahić in an "Audi A4".
Immediately upon entering the house, after Ratko Živković and Nebojša Janković had sat down with Radulović, Hodžić and Spahić, Belivuk, Miljković, Paunović and Kilibarda entered the living room. Belivuk and Miljković attacked Hodžić. When Hodžić reached for the gun while Belivuk held him on the floor with his hands, Marko Kilibarda fired several bullets at him, killing him on the spot. Paunović, Miljković, Belivuk and Janković then attacked Spahić and Radulović. Paunović kicked Spahić in the head several times and hit Radulović on the right side of the face with a “heckler”, after which they tied their hands and legs with duct tape.
"On that day, Adis Spahić was killed with a firearm of an unknown brand and caliber, while Belivuk and Miljković Radulović, in an "Audi Q7" jeep that Aleksandar Ljumović left for them near their house, drove Radulović from Spuži at around 3:30 p.m. to a house with apartments in the town of Sutvara - Kotor Municipality, which was ceded by Nikša and Davor Perović," the indictment states.
