The Customs Administration (UC) announced today that two million tablets and goods worth almost 28.000 euros were seized in intensified customs controls.

As announced by the Customs Administration, customs officers have, over the past month, in several separate actions prevented the circulation of illicit and undeclared goods, taking measures in accordance with the law.

The Customs Administration said that, in the CI Free Zone ''Port of Bar'', a control was carried out on a shipment that arrived at the Port of Bar, which was declared as multivitamins and minerals for animals.

"According to the submitted documentation, the shipment consisted of 1.700 packages with a gross weight of 20.025 kg, with a total value of 103.000 US dollars (about 87.000 euros), included in one invoice for 13 different items. The inspection determined an irregularity in the declaration of one of the products, after which an analysis was performed using the Rigaku ResQ CQL spectrometric device, followed by a laboratory check by the Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices," the statement states.

The Customs Office added that, in a separate operation at the Dobrakovo border crossing, customs officers seized goods worth almost 28.000 euros, consisting of expensive mobile phones, optical lenses and medical alcohol, and perfumes found in a bus with Montenegrin license plates.
