EP (22) from Plav was arrested on suspicion of physically assaulting a female and stealing her mobile phone, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that officers of the Regional Security Center "North" have carried out increased activities to investigate criminal offenses in the area of property crime, with the aim of protecting citizens' property and raising their level of security, and that through these activities, three criminal offenses committed in the territories of Berane and Rožaje have been investigated.
"Due to suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of aggravated theft in a particularly brazen and dangerous manner in Berane, EP (22) from Plav was deprived of her liberty. She will be brought to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane with a criminal complaint. She is suspected of physically assaulting a female person, after which she stole a mobile phone from her, which was later found and returned to its owner. During the search of EP's person, police officers also found a certain amount of tablets that are on the list of opiates, which was notified to the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, who will subsequently declare the legal qualification of the act," the statement states.
The UP added that a criminal complaint has been filed with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane against DK (19) from Rožaje on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated theft.
He is suspected of stealing money from the cash register of a retail store together with a minor.
The Police Department said that NF (44) was arrested in Rožaje on suspicion of committing the crime of theft by taking advantage of the injured party's carelessness and stealing a mobile phone from a retail store owned by the injured party, which was later found and returned to the owner.
"NF was brought before the acting prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje for further jurisdiction, along with a criminal complaint," the UP statement reads.
