Kotor police arrested EA (41) from Bar on suspicion of stealing money from a church shop in Risan, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that EA is suspected of entering a church in Risan on February 16th, around 17 p.m., and stealing a box of money from the church shop located inside the church, after which he fled.
"Acting on the report and the collected operational information, officers of the Kotor Security Department quickly located the suspect, immediately after the commission of the criminal offense, in Lastva Grbaljska, on the Kotor - Budva road, while he was trying to leave the territory of the Kotor municipality. After identification, it was determined that the person in question is a repeat offender in the area of property crime," the Police Department said.
The statement also states that during the inspection, a starting pistol, stolen money, and a large quantity of "Xalol" tablets, which are on the list of narcotic drugs, were found at EA.
"The competent state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed of the event, who ordered that EA be deprived of his liberty and that criminal charges be filed against him, in summary proceedings, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of theft," the UP statement reads.
