Police officers searched an apartment owned by businessman Aco Đukanović in Podgorica today, and police inspectors then headed to Nikšić to continue searching the house of the former president's brother, "Vijesti" has learned unofficially.

Earlier today, police surrounded the building on Vuka Karadžića Street, in the center of the capital, where businessman Đukanović lives.
In the same building is a branch of Prva Banka, owned by Đukanović.
A few minutes after a strong police force surrounded the residential and commercial building, plainclothes inspectors, supported by the Special Police Unit, entered the building and began a search.

According to information from "Vijesti", the action is being led by the Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor's Office.
Aco Đukanović is the brother of former long-time Prime Minister and President of the country, Milo Đukanović.

The Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro announced in September 2023 that Aco Đukanović moved to Luxembourg soon after the 2020 elections and that he had entered into new projects there.
The younger Djukanovic's wealth was estimated at several hundred million euros.
Prva Banka is just one of the former state-owned companies that passed into Ace's hands, during the years of dubious and partnership privatizations led by Đukanović Sr.
