Arrested businessman Aco Đukanović claimed today before Prosecutor Ivan Bojanić that he has never financed any activity on social networks in his life, that he does not know who Filip Đuranović is, and that he first partially saw the documents, which were seized during the search of his apartment in Podgorica, when the police arrived.
A person with the same name and surname was questioned in October 2025 in an investigation into a criminal organization led by Aleksandar Mijajlović, according to special prosecutors. According to "Vijesti", Đuranović was then detained from the National Security Agency, where he worked, and his mobile phone was taken away during the interrogation.
After giving his statement, he was not detained. Đuranović was publicly accused by former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović of being the administrator of the Udar portal, which, ahead of the 2020 parliamentary elections, targeted political opponents of the then-government of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
"I must point out that it is unclear to me how MP Bogdanović commented on the document that the prosecutor presented to me only today, the day after the search of my apartment, and which document the prosecutor presented to me and my lawyers today. I was angry with my legal team for not being aware of it, because it does not make sense to me that someone in parliament would discuss and show a document that is part of the prosecutor's files, and that my lawyers know nothing about," he said at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, where he was questioned in his capacity as a citizen.
He also said that, given that he was brought in "handcuffs", under escort and filmed by journalists, and that he is being detained "for an act that I have never heard of anyone ever committing in Spuž", despite the fact that he is being questioned as a citizen, he believes that he was brought in that way only because his last name is Đukanović.
"In front of you stands a man who has not owned anything in his entire life, and for which he has no valid documentation. I am someone who has kept records of all his purchases for almost 40 years, for which I have evidence. I will add that I am convinced that the officers of the Police Directorate also concluded during the search that I have documentation relating to my entire business as a businessman, and it is located in my apartment, in a special room in which there are several hundred files about my life and business," he told the prosecutor.
"Regarding the photo documentation, as well as the material related to the functioning via social networks, I must point out that I saw the aforementioned documentation for the first time when the police officers were there that day. Now I will explain to you in detail how and where it was found. Namely, as I have already explained to you, I keep proper documentation of all the documents I possess. The aforementioned documentation was found in the basement, in a sealed envelope, with many more envelopes in a sealed box. Whoever wrote to me or sent me some documents, I tried to respect and read them.
"I claim that I neither opened nor read the above, nor many other envelopes that they found unopened in the same box and opened on that occasion, and there were over a hundred of them. All of the above envelopes have been waiting for me for a long time, given that I was sick with corona and that due to my health and life obligations I did not have time to open them. After being shown what was in this envelope by this prosecutor, I state that I first partially saw the above documents when the police officers opened that envelope, while here today I have leafed through it and state that I do not see anything controversial in the above documents and that now that I am partially familiar with the documentation, I responsibly claim that I have nothing to do with it," he said.
He pointed out that he was not familiar with the name Filip Đuranović, that in his 60 years he had never had social media, nor had he used them...
"He also adds that he has never financed any activity on social networks in his life. I will especially point out that for 40 years, and now I am 60 years old, I have been receiving letters and that all those that have not been read were in the basement of my apartment waiting for me to open them, and then to sort them into my private documentation. I must point out that it is unclear to me how MP Bogdanović commented on the document that the prosecutor presented to me only today, the day after the search of my apartment, and which document the prosecutor presented to me and my lawyers today. I was angry with my legal team for not being familiar with it, because it does not make sense to me that someone in Parliament is discussing and showing a document that is part of the prosecutor's files, and my lawyers know nothing about it. It is unclear to me how the aforementioned documentation that was presented to me can be the subject of examination, and that the competent authorities do not react to the writings of Slavko Šaranović, the father of the Minister of Internal Affairs, who points to certain events that need to be examined, but that they are not being examined, and none of those who publicly "They are not responding to the state of affairs in my case," he told the prosecutor.
Responding to questions about the watches found in his apartment, and whose photos were shown to him, he said that they were all his, that three were of small value, and that he had worn one of them as a high school student...
"Regarding the watches in photos 26, 27, 28 and 29, I emphasize that all three watches are mine, that they are watches that I personally bought and that they are watches to which I am very attached, and I will emphasize how they are still in my possession. Namely, in February 2020, a robbery was committed in my apartment and a lot of valuable and significant things were taken. During that period, I was in the hospital undergoing surgery and I always carry these three watches in the photo with me, and I also carried them then. Since the robbery of my apartment took place while I was in the hospital, and these three watches were with me, these three watches also remained in my possession. I will especially emphasize that there is a possibility that the documents for the aforementioned watches were stolen during the robbery, but I can prove their ownership, origin and date of purchase in another way, provided that the need arises or that the documentation about them is not in my apartment or in the documentation that I keep," he said.
He also claimed that, during the burglary in his apartment, all the valuables he had and had acquired through inheritance were stolen:
"I will also add that I have been waiting for six years for someone to call me to trial regarding this theft, but to this day no one has called me about it," he said.
Businessman Aco Đukanović was questioned today in his capacity as a citizen at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica.
Djukanovic's defense attorney, attorney Nikola Martinovic, said that his client gave a statement in his capacity as a citizen regarding the search that was conducted in his apartment on Karađorđeva Street.
"This is about questioning Aco Đukanović, as a citizen, about the circumstances of the search itself and the documentation found during that search. Today, the documentation was made available to him for the first time, that is, he was allowed to browse through that documentation for the first time, and he explained it in every detail," said Martinović.
He added that Aco Đukanović answered all the questions asked by the state prosecutor.
"He explained everything that was interesting to the prosecutor. Now the situation is such that he does not have the status of a suspect or defendant in this case. He is just a citizen," Martinović said.
Aco Đukanović was brought in early this morning from UIKS for questioning, which ended around 10:30 am.
He was arrested on the night of February 27th and 28th, after a search of his family home in the Nikšić neighborhood of Rastoci.
The Police Directorate announced that officers from the Crime Prevention Sector, with the support of the Special Police Unit and inspectors from the "Centre" and "West" regional security centers, searched several Đukanović's facilities and premises in Podgorica and Nikšić on February 27 and the night of February 28, based on orders from the competent prosecutor's offices and courts.
