Podgorica resident Marko Radulović (40), who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of committing usury to the detriment of three people, has been ordered to be detained by prosecutors for up to 72 hours.
Radulović, according to a statement from the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica, is suspected of giving money to the injured parties MK, DP and BB with appropriate interest, taking advantage of their difficult situation, while at the same time securing disproportionate benefits for himself.
Radulović's defense attorney, attorney Božo Milonjić, previously told "Vijesti" that the information that his client was questioned at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, regarding the circumstances of the criminal report for the criminal offense of usury, to the detriment of three people from Podgorica, is correct.
"He presented his defense to the allegations in that criminal report today before the acting state prosecutor, denying the commission of the criminal offense and his guilt. He explained in detail what his relations and relationships were with those three persons, those three witnesses, the injured parties, and what the relationship was between his late father and one of those injured parties," said Milonjić.
He also pointed out that Radulović, in his defense, referred to the search of the house, during which a large quantity of wristwatches were seized.
"He explained that these were watches from his late father's private collection, which he later inherited, in probate proceedings, in accordance with the law, and based on the probate decision of the competent notary in Danilovgrad. He also explained that the vehicle that was seized during the search is still registered in the name of his late father and that the same vehicle was the subject of the probate, and that due to administrative reasons it has not yet been registered in his name," said Milonjić.
He added that Radulović was ordered to be held in judicial custody for up to 72 hours.
"The prosecutor found the reason for the detention to be the risk of influencing witnesses, the risk of flight and the risk of possible repetition of the criminal offense," said Milonjić.
