Podgorica resident Andrija Laković was sent to the Spuž Remand Prison after being ordered to remain in custody for up to 30 days for threatening "Vijesti" journalist Jelena Jovanović.
She was questioned tonight as a victim at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, where she stated that she would like someone to tell her the motive behind why, as authorities claim, the suspect sent a threatening phone message on September 13, 2025.
The journalist said she was joining the prosecution.
At the same time, she answered negatively to Laković's legal representative's question about whether anyone from that family had threatened her before or after all these events.
She also said that she had not been threatened by the company Laković mentioned in the message.
Journalist Jovanović requested that the minutes be recorded that she was grateful to the prosecutor, the Police Directorate, and the National Security Agency for shedding light on the case despite the obstruction of the Basic Court, which, under the patronage of Željka Jovović, tried to prevent the truth from being revealed.
"Clarifying this case is important for me and all my colleagues, but it is also a strong message to those who might, in the future, start threatening journalists, even from foreign numbers," she told prosecutor Igor Šćekić.
The Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) officially announced three days ago that Laković had been arrested for endangering the safety of a "Vijesti" journalist. This was allegedly done on their orders, with the statement that Laković committed the crime on September 13, 2025.
In that statement, they did not specify whether the motives for threatening journalist Jovanović last year were known.
The Police Directorate also announced that their officers, together with the ODT, have solved the criminal offense of endangering security committed against the journalist of the Independent daily "Vijesti" Jelena Jovanović.
On September 13th of last year, the journalist reported to the police a threat she received in a phone message from a number in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The message said to consider "who is safer", with the statement that her security was paid for by the state, while the sender "paid for his own".
"You fat guy, the state pays for your security, and I pay for mine. So think about who is safer, me or you, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed, and I see you will. So in any of your next shows, or in your spying, mention the ***** company once again and next time you'll be the one at a loss, not my company. So whatever it costs," the message Jovanović received reads.
After receiving the threats, the journalist then stated that she did not believe it came from the construction company from Podgorica that was mentioned in the message.
