Searches in Danilovgrad and Cetinje, weapons and ammunition seized

During searches in Danilovgrad and Cetinje, police officers found and seized six firearms and over 400 rounds of ammunition and arrested one person, the Police Directorate said.

It is alleged that officers of the Danilovgrad Security Department (SB), acting on the order of the investigating judge of the Basic Court in that city, searched the apartment and other premises used by NK (56) in the town of Kosić.

"Police officers found a 9-millimeter (mm) Browning pistol, a 7.65-mm M-57 pistol, a 7.65-mm Crvena Zastava pistol, a hunting rifle, as well as 428 rounds of ammunition of various types and calibers, and weapon parts at NK," the statement said.

As the police said, the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the incident, and on whose orders information was collected from NK in the official premises of the Danilovgrad Security Department.

"On the order of the acting prosecutor, NK was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. He will be brought before the acting prosecutor for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline and with a criminal report," the police said.

The statement states that officers from the Cetinje Police Department searched the apartment and other premises used by SK (44) and found a pistol with three rounds of ammunition, as well as six rounds of ammunition of unknown caliber.

"The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Cetinje has been informed of the incident, and on his order the gun will be sent for appropriate expert examination to the Forensic Center of the Police Directorate. After the expert examination is completed, the prosecutor will state his opinion on the legal qualification of the act," the statement says.

It is added that police officers in Cetinje, acting on a telegram from the Danilovgrad Police Department, confiscated a "Zastava Arms" rifle from VV due to a negative check under the Weapons Act.
