Montenegrin police have filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje against a Croatian national from that city who is suspected of illegally cutting down 178 oak trees in a state forest in the town of Lozna.
The Police Directorate announced that it is suspected that the trees were cut down this year and that material damage was caused to the Forest and Hunting Management Directorate.
The police, as they said, continue to fight environmental crime as one of the national priorities, as well as to prevent illegal logging, find and prosecute perpetrators of these crimes, with the aim of preserving Montenegro's natural resources.
