Bogdanović: Every badge that served crime must fall

Today's news that police officers Boro Bojanić and Miloš Đurišić are suspected of passing official information to persons of operational interest "is another brutal confirmation of how deeply the mafia has taken root in the security sector for years," said Boris Bogdanović, secretary general and head of the Democrats parliamentary group.

"This is the consequence of a system in which some served criminal structures instead of the state. And now, according to the old recipe, all those who recruited, brought in, trained, protected and left such personnel to work for the mafia will jump. On-duty DPS lawyers, suspended and former police officers, as well as all propaganda defenders of the old order, will jump to give us lessons on human rights. And what human rights? What human rights for those who, according to the suspicions of the competent authorities, turned their official badge into a service for operationally interesting persons? Where were the human rights of honest police officers who were humiliated by such a system? Where were the rights of the citizens of Montenegro to have a police force that protects them, not the mafia," Bogdanović announced.

Therefore, as he said, "there will be no withdrawal."

"There will be no protection for those who betrayed the uniform, the law and the state. Every badge that served crime must fall. Every connection between the police and the mafia must be severed. And every attempt to protect those who undermined the state under the guise of false concern for rights will be completely exposed. Montenegro no longer has the luxury of choosing between the mafia and the truth. There is only one path, a complete purge of the security sector from all who worked for the mafia, against the state and against citizens," the statement reads.
