Weapons and ammunition seized in Bijelo Polje and Rožaje, two people prosecuted

Police officers from the Regional Security Center "North" found and seized weapons and ammunition during searches in Rožaje and Bijelo Polje and processed two people, the Police Directorate said.

It is alleged that a CZ 99 pistol, caliber nine millimeters (mm), as well as 13 rounds of ammunition, without valid documentation, was found in Rožaje near the RK.

"The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje was informed about the incident, who stated that the actions of RK did not constitute elements of a criminal offense," the police said.

They stated that a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings will be filed against RK within the legally prescribed deadline.

"While appropriate proceedings will be initiated before the competent authority for the confiscated weapons with a proposal for permanent confiscation," the statement added.

The police said that a search of the Bijelo Polje police station found a Blow gas pistol without valid documentation.

For this reason, it is added, the DZ was issued a misdemeanor warrant in accordance with the Weapons Act.

It is stated that after conducting expert examinations at the Forensic Center in Danilovgrad, police officers filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane against MS from Andrijevica, who is suspected of the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.

"A search of MS in February found an M48 rifle, caliber 7,92×57 mm, in illegal possession," the police said.
