Initial police estimates are that 12 confiscated high-end cars, worth around one million euros, were completely or partially set on fire in the parking lot of the State Property Administration.

This is a car manufactured in 2023, which was seized from Tamara Zvicer during a traffic control in Tivat, after it was determined that the "Audi" was wanted by Interpol.

The police then announced that after an expert examination and exchange of data in the process of operational police cooperation, it was determined that the car had been mechanically modified and the chassis number had been changed.

They then filed a misdemeanor charge against Tamara Zvicer on suspicion that she had committed a violation of the Customs Act.

The fire also destroyed several expensive cars, which were temporarily seized by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, and the State Property Administration, which has been managing them for years, was responsible for their safekeeping until the proceedings were concluded. Koča Đurišić.

Police data indicates that the fire was set at 4:35 a.m. in the parking lot of the State Property Administration in Masline, and the blaze completely destroyed four cars, while the fire damaged eight more.

A day after a fire in which high-value cars were destroyed, the question is raised whether the state adequately and in a good location stored the seized vehicles.

The State Property Administration immediately announced yesterday that they had taken "all necessary steps and measures to secure the location," and that the parking lot was being secured 24 hours a day by a private security company.

"The location is secured 24 hours a day, at three positions, by the company NGS Security, and the area is covered by video surveillance. During 2025, the level of fire protection was increased to the highest possible level allowed by the location. The number of fire extinguishers has been significantly increased and they are distributed at all critical points. The entire area is also secured by a hydrant network, which was previously tested and renovated. In order to reduce the risk, training of officers in the field of fire prevention was carried out," the statement said.

The government made the decision back in 2015 to store temporarily and permanently seized vehicles in the former military barracks in Masline. Before that, the state had been storing temporarily seized vehicles in several locations, and a similar incident occurred in 2011, when several cars were destroyed in a fire in Ćemovsko polje.

The damage at the time was in the millions, and years later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs paid huge compensation based on private lawsuits filed by the owners of the confiscated cars.

The State Property Administration states that the location in Masline is "a solution inherited from the previous period," and that they are doing everything they can to ensure that state and confiscated property at this temporary location is safe.

"In the previous period, we pointed out to the competent authorities that the aforementioned location does not fully meet European standards, and that it should be secured by the Police Administration. We also emphasized the need for a state fire truck to be available 24 hours a day at that location, as well as the need to ultimately move the parking space for state and confiscated vehicles outside the populated area. The State Property Administration has carried out certain activities in this direction in order to secure and bring a new location to its intended purpose that would be in line with all international standards," the statement concludes.
