VDT Podgorica: Activities regarding seizures of large quantities of drugs abroad, criminal charges against 10 people

The Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica announced that it has carried out several months of activities regarding the seizure of large quantities of narcotics abroad.

"In the case of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, months of activities that included the application of special investigative methods resulted in the filing of criminal charges by the Police Directorate against 10 persons for the criminal offenses of criminal association, unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs, and illicit trafficking in weapons and explosives," the statement said.

As the Higher State Prosecutor's Office adds, the criminal complaint charges the suspects with repeatedly selling, transporting and mediating in the sale of narcotics cocaine and cannabis, while the group of four suspects is also charged with the criminal offense of criminal association.

"A suspect ordered and organized sea or air transport of large quantities of narcotics - cocaine, hemp and hashish - in Podgorica, Germany, Bolivia, Thailand, Belgium and the Dominican Republic. By order of the prosecution, the suspects will be brought before the state prosecutor within 24 hours, when a decision will be made on their further detention," the statement concludes.
