After a hearing at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, seven people arrested yesterday on suspicion of participating in organized smuggling of large quantities of narcotics at the international level were ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours.
A detention order was issued for Svetislav Filipović (47) from Podgorica, whom Europol in an official statement designated as a high-risk target, the organizer of a cell of the Balkan Cartel.
He is charged with committing the aggravated criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison, as well as the criminal offense of illicit trafficking in weapons and explosives.
Boban Golubović (35), Enes Borančić (22) and Petar Krsmanović (25) - from Podgorica, were also sent to prosecutorial custody, suspected of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
Detention for up to 72 hours was also ordered for Emin Adžijusufović (35), Božo Vujsić (30) and Pavle Pejić (33).
Due to suspicions that they are part of this Balkan Cartel cell, the police are searching for fifty-year-old Gojko Boričić from Podgorica, who is accused of forming part of this criminal network, as well as for fugitive Vukan Vujačić.
"After questioning several persons as suspects, namely SF, EA, EB, BG, PK, PP and BV, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica ordered the detention of the above-mentioned persons for up to 72 hours due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of criminal association, two criminal offenses of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs and the criminal offense of illicit trafficking in weapons and explosives. In the further course of the procedure, this prosecutor's office will take all measures and actions prescribed by law in order to clarify the specific criminal matter," the High State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica announced.
The operation, carried out yesterday, was carried out with the support of international security agencies, and included several individuals suspected of participating in the organized smuggling of large quantities of narcotics at the international level.

The police suspect fifty-year-old Gojko Boričić from Podgorica, born in Berane, of forming part of this criminal network, but according to the police, he has not been on the territory of Montenegro for a long time.
Emin Adžijusufović (35), Božo Vujsić (30) and Pavle Pejić (33) were also arrested on suspicion of committing the crimes of criminal association and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
The police are searching for fugitive Vukan Vujačić.
