Interpol Podgorica officers arrested Stefan Radović (34), an alleged member of Nikola Vušović's Vračar criminal group, which is reputed to be the Belgrade cell of the Kavač clan, and for whom an international arrest warrant has been issued.
Radović has dual citizenship of Montenegro and Serbia.
Serbian law enforcement authorities are allegedly looking for him for the murders of Vladmir Popović and Vladmir Kostić in 2018.
"An international arrest warrant has been issued for this person by the Interpol Belgrade NCB in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings being conducted due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of criminal association and aggravated murder by incitement. Also, an international arrest warrant has been issued for him by the Interpol Zagreb NCB in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings being conducted due to the suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of forgery of documents and certification of false content. The aforementioned person is listed in the police operational records as a member of an organized criminal group operating abroad," the police announced.
As it is added, SR will be brought before the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica within the legal deadline for the purpose of determining extradition detention.
"By conducting targeted searches for members of organized crime groups and perpetrators of serious crimes, the Police Directorate undertakes planned, comprehensive and continuous activities aimed at effectively combating all forms of serious and organized crime," the statement concludes.
