Head of the Democrats Parliamentary Club Boris Bogdanovic He said that the Đukanović family should be held accountable if anything happens to him or any member of that political party.
He told "Vijesti" after being questioned as a citizen at the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), following a criminal complaint filed by the legal team. Aca Đukanović filed against him, the messenger Momcilo Leković, Director of the Police Administration Lazar Šćepanović and UP officials Velibor Koprivica.
"Vijesti" was unofficially told that Bogdanović was named in the report as the head of a criminal organization, the goal of which was to create an environment for the arrest of the brother of the long-time prime minister and president of the country. Milo Đukanović.
Legal representative of Aco Đukanović, lawyer Slobodan Stasevic confirmed to the list that on April 9, they filed criminal charges against several individuals on suspicion of committing five criminal offenses.
"On April 9, we filed a criminal complaint against members of the Parliament of Montenegro, Momčilo Leković, Boris Bogdanović and the Director of the Police Administration, Lazar Šćepanović, and in the meantime we have supplemented it with another person - namely Velibor Koprivica, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed five criminal acts - creation of a criminal organization, unauthorized collection and use of personal data, unlawful search, abuse of official position and disclosure of classified information," Stašević told the newspaper.
He explained that Đukanovićević's legal team, however, will not publish the criminal report or the supplement to the criminal report - because, as he said, this would violate the presumption of innocence of the reported persons and if they did otherwise, they would legally behave in the same way as the persons against whom they filed criminal reports.
"We have confidence in the judicial institutions and will not exert media or any other pressure, as the persons against whom we have filed criminal charges are doing. They announced the arrest of Aco Đukanović, commented on the evidence from his trial and presented it to the public without authorization, just as they are now conducting a media campaign against Aco Đukanović and his family," said Stašević.
According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", Šćepanović submitted a written statement to the SDT, in which he stated that the service he heads did everything in accordance with the law in the case of Aco Đukanović.
Bogdanović explained that he had given the notification on Tuesday in his capacity as a citizen, emphasizing that the special prosecutor's actions were professional, correct, legal and institutional.
"Without pressure, without abuse, without any relationship that would go beyond the framework of the law. That is precisely why I want to clearly separate the work of institutions from the cowardly attempt of political-criminal structures to intimidate those who have been fighting organized crime for years through their reports, pressure and subterfuge."
He said that it is particularly important for citizens to know "that what is written in Aco Đukanović's criminal report is nothing new, nothing authentic, and nothing legally founded."
"These are the same constructions, the same accusations, the same political narratives that were repeated months before by DPS deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro and in public appearances when they defended the arrested heads of criminal organizations, claiming that they were being arrested by Boris Bogdanović, not by the competent state authorities. Therefore, it is completely clear that this criminal report is not the product of the legal protection of a single citizen, but a continuation of the DPS's political operation for the needs of the lawyers of the leaders of organized crime. It was, by all accounts, written by DPS, conceived by Milo Đukanović's political circle, and Aco Đukanović only signed it."
He said that it was true that he spoke publicly about Aco Đukanović's assets.
"Yes, I published information about his multi-million dollar assets that are of public interest. Yes, I spoke publicly about Prva Banka and Limenca and I will again. Yes, as an MP and member of the Committee on Security and Defense, I have the right and obligation to point out issues related to the origin of wealth, possible abuses and connections between politics, money and power. And yes, Aco Đukanović obviously thought he could silence me with criminal charges, pressure and attempted intimidation. He was wrong. This is cowardly behavior by Aco Đukanović and the political circle that protects him.
"That's why I ask publicly, if this is really a criminal report by Aco Đukanović, why do we read in it sentences previously uttered by DPS deputies? If this is really a legal act, why does it emanate political nervousness from the DPS? If this is really an attempt to protect rights, why does it look like a continuation of the parliamentary polemic that has been waged for months by people who today defend the bearers of the old system, the bearers of organized crime, their privileges and their networks," Bogdanović pointed out.
According to him, the answer is clear - Aco Đukanović is not alone in this case and behind the report stands the political interest of the DPS, the fear of the Đukanović family, and the nervousness of a system that has been feeding off the state for decades:
"And now he is afraid of every question, every document, every truth spoken publicly. This is an attempt to intimidate those who have raised the topic of multimillion-dollar assets, political protection, institutional connections and family untouchability."
"I have clearly stated before the competent authorities that everything I did was done in the public interest. As a member of the Parliament of Montenegro and a member of the Committee on Security and Defense, I have the right and obligation to point out possible abuses, to seek answers, to supervise the work of the security sector together with the Committee and to speak about what citizens have the right to know. I did not request, did not receive, nor did I use secret information related to Aco Đukanović.
"I was talking about information that was already publicly available, about facts that were published in the media or about information that I came across through independent research. That's why I'm saying: you will not scare us. We will not be stopped by reports, threats, insinuations, or attempts to portray the fight against crime as political persecution. Quite the opposite, the more nervous they are, the clearer it is that we have hit the center of the system that has protected the leaders of organized crime, their political patrons and their financial protectors for decades," said Bogdanović.
He also stated that today, DPS is not defending the law, institutions, or justice, but its heritage.
"They defend the networks of power that they have created for decades. They defend those because of which citizens lived in difficulty while the privileged got rich. They defend the system in which crime, politics and money walked together, and the people paid the price of their untouchability, and they especially defend the two Acos, Aco Đukanović and Aco Mijajlović, but also Ranko Ubović. These are the real leaders of the DPS.
If anything happens to me, to any member of Democratic Montenegro, to any official fighting organized crime, to any police officer, prosecutor, civil servant or citizen participating in freeing the state from criminal structures, look for the political and moral order-givers in those who are trying to intimidate us today. Look for them in the Đukanović family, look for them in the DPS, look for them in those circles that are used to the state retreating before their surnames, accounts, connections and the fear that they have sown for decades. This is actually confirmed by the criminal reports whose content is first announced by the DPS, and then the accused person himself signs them.
But this is no longer that Montenegro... And the truth is yet to come."
According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", Šćepanović submitted a written statement to the SDT, in which he stated that the service he heads did everything in accordance with the law in the case of Aco Đukanović.
Leković: I didn't know about the police search
Democrats MP Momčilo Leković announced in SDT, in his capacity as a citizen, that he had prepared the parliamentary discussion on Aco Đukanović's property about a month before his appearance in parliament and a few days before the search of the premises used by Đukanović.
He said that he used data from publicly available sources, stating that it was information about the assets of "the three richest Montenegrins," among whom was Aco Đukanović.
“I was not aware, nor did I know that there would be a police operation in which the premises used by Aco Đukanović were searched.” He added that he did not have the documents created during the search, but that he had become familiar with them through the “Vijesti” portal, where, as he stated, certain parts were blacked out. Leković said that he did not know the police director, except that he had seen him once at a protocol ceremony of the Ministry of the Interior, and that he had “never heard” of Velibor Koprivica before the media reports. “I have never been in possession of any personal data on Aco Đukanović,” he stated.
He also said that he sees the criminal complaint as pressure and an attempt to limit his parliamentary activities.
