The Berane police have filed a criminal complaint against MD (37) from that city, on suspicion of committing the crime of illicit trafficking, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
"Officers of the Regional Security Center 'North' - Berane Security Department, while carrying out planned activities aimed at combating the shadow economy, stopped and controlled a passenger motor vehicle driven by MD (37) from Berane, a multiple returnee in the commission of criminal offenses in the field of property crime," the UP statement said.
As the police add, a search of the vehicle found 30 kilograms of excise goods - cut tobacco, without proper documentation.
"The competent state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed about the aforementioned event, who stated that criminal charges should be filed against MD in regular proceedings on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illicit trafficking," the statement concludes.
