UP: BiH citizen arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a car in Igalo, search underway for Slovenian citizen

The Herceg Novi police arrested DV (40), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of destruction and damage to another's property, while a citizen of Slovenia, AC (48), is being sought on suspicion of the same criminal offense.

This was announced today by the Police Administration (UP).

"Officers of the Herceg Novi Security Department have shed light on the aforementioned criminal offense and identified AC and DV as suspects, who, as is suspected, on February 26, 2026, at around 00:30, entered Montenegro together in a vehicle from Croatia, and then at around 01:40, in the town of Igalo, Herceg Novi Municipality, in the parking lot of a residential building, using flammable material and a suitable means, caused a fire in a passenger motor vehicle owned by a Serbian citizen with temporary residence in Herceg Novi, after which they left the territory of Montenegro," the UP statement states.

As the Police Department adds, yesterday, during an attempt to enter Montenegro, police officers checked DV at the Vraćenovići border crossing, who was then brought to the official premises of the Herceg Novi Security Department for further action.

"After collecting information, the named person was deprived of his liberty and brought to the competent prosecutor within the legal deadline for further jurisdiction and action. Police officers are taking measures and actions to locate the suspect AC, a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia," the UP statement concluded.
