A fugitive member of the criminal group of Vaso Ulic, Radoje Zvicer and Slobodan Kašćelan, Tuzanin Kristijan Drešaj, was arrested today in Moscow, an official confirmation from the Police Directorate was given to Vijesti.
The institution announced that Drešaj was deprived of his liberty after an international targeted search and direct and precise exchange of information between NCB Interpol Podgorica and NCB Interpol Moscow.
They state that based on this information, police officers of the Russian Federation located and arrested him.
"The Interpol NCB Podgorica has issued a red international arrest warrant for KD in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings being conducted against him on suspicion of having committed the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. The aforementioned person is marked in police and operational records as a member of an organized criminal group that, in addition to Montenegro, also operates in the territory of Australia and South America," the UP announced.
They explain that the arrest of Dresaj was preceded by an intensive exchange of operational and intelligence data between officers of the Targeted Search Group - FAST Montenegro and the police services of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Organized Crime Unit of the Interpol General Secretariat in Lyon:
"Further activities were carried out that led to the location and deprivation of liberty of KD. Further communication between the judicial authorities of Montenegro and the Russian Federation is underway with the aim of extraditing this person," the Police Department said.
The Police Department announced that, in cooperation with Interpol, Europol and other international partner services, they continue to undertake targeted search activities to bring to justice members of organized crime groups and perpetrators of serious crimes who also operate on a transnational level. They also announced that, in cooperation with partners, they continue the continuous fight against all forms of serious and organized crime.
