Police officers filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi against MP (37) from Kotor, on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of abuse of position in business.
"The Ministry of Justice is suspected of having exceeded his authority and acted contrary to the Law on Enforcement and Security, as the executive director of Vektro Boka, after the decision prohibiting the disposal of the assets of that company, namely the Igalo hotel complex, became final," the statement said.
The Police Directorate explained that the property was sold to the company HG CG in February last year, after which a conclusion was reached on the transfer of the property to the buyer, which meant that Vektra Boka lost the right to dispose of it and was obliged to hand it over to the new owner.
"However, the Ministry of Justice subsequently concluded an annex to the lease agreement with the JP company, which extended the lease of the cadastral plot used as a parking space for a period of three years, i.e. until the end of October 2028, with an annual rent of 25 thousand euros," the Police Directorate said.
They added that MP, in this way, enabled the JP company to continue using the real estate and generating income, while at the same time causing damage to the company HG CG, which purchased the disputed property. At the same time, he obtained an unlawful material benefit from Vektra Boka, amounting to 25 thousand euros.
