Zurovac and Mekić ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica ordered the detention of Nemanja Zurovac and Mehmed Mekić for up to 72 hours due to reasonable suspicion that, together with currently unknown persons, they committed the criminal offenses of criminal association and participation in a group that was supposed to prevent an official from performing an official act, in an attempt.

As stated in the statement of the Podgorica Police Department, there is a reasonable suspicion that the suspects, acting in an organized manner and with previously assigned roles, installed GPS devices on several official vehicles of the Police Directorate to monitor the movement of vehicles and police officers, and that in this way they collected data on the movement of official vehicles, in order to enable timely warning of other persons about police activities and to make it more difficult to carry out official actions.

"The detention of NZ was determined due to the existence of circumstances indicating the risk of escape, the possibility of influencing accomplices, as well as the risk of repeating the criminal offense, while MM was detained due to the existence of circumstances indicating that he could obstruct the proceedings by influencing accomplices," the statement said.

Zurovac (29) and Mekić (21) were arrested earlier today, while Vasilije Lakić is being sought.
