Five firearms and ammunition seized in searches in Bijelo Polje

During searches in the Bijelo Polje area, the police found and seized five firearms and ammunition.

As stated in the statement of the Police Directorate, during a search of a residential building used by the State Security Service, three firearms were found and seized: a Browning pistol, a CZ pistol, a hunting carbine of unknown make and caliber with an optical sight, 29 pieces of ammunition of different makes and calibers, as well as a gun barrel, all without the necessary documentation.

By order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, DB was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, the police said.

During a search of a facility used by RP, a relative of a person of operational interest, two firearms were found and seized, namely two hunting rifles of Russian and Italian manufacture, as well as 12 rounds of ammunition, the police said.

The criminal investigation determined that the weapons and ammunition were owned by PA (24), and the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje will subsequently declare the legal qualification of the crime with regard to the seized weapons, the statement concludes.
