UP: The extradition of Ivan Lješković from Slovenia to Montenegro was successfully completed

The extradition of Ivan Lješković (33) from Slovenia to Montenegro has been successfully completed, the Police Directorate announced. He was arrested on April 11 in Slovenia on the basis of an Interpol warrant issued in Podgorica. Criminal proceedings are being conducted against the Montenegrin citizen before the Higher Court in Podgorica, on the basis of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and smuggling as an accomplice.

"I. Lj., who is registered in operational records as a member of an organized criminal group, was arrested on April 11 in Slovenia on the basis of an international arrest warrant issued by the Interpol NCB Podgorica, and was wanted in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings being conducted against him before the High Court in Podgorica, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and smuggling as co-perpetrator."

He is suspected of having committed the aforementioned criminal offenses by, as a member of an organized criminal group, carrying out criminal activities related to the transfer of cigarettes, as goods whose circulation is restricted, across the customs line while avoiding customs supervision measures, and of subsequently participating in the sale, distribution, concealment and smuggling of cigarettes from the Port of Bar Free Customs Zone to countries in the region and the European Union," the police statement said.
