Fight in Kotor, two injured

In a fight that took place last night in Dobrota, Kotor, two people suffered physical injuries, the Police Directorate announced.

As stated, Kotor police officers, in coordination with the state prosecutor's office, are taking measures and actions to shed light on the incident.

"Acting on a citizen's report that on the night between May 9 and 10, at around 2 a.m., a fight between several people occurred near the Institute of Marine Biology in Dobrota, police officers have, through the measures and actions taken so far, identified several people from Tivat and Kotor who are suspected of having participated in the conflict, including persons of operational interest. It is suspected that the event was preceded by a verbal conflict, after which a physical conflict occurred," they said.

As they add, in this incident, two people have so far been found to have serious physical injuries.

"Police officers have identified all participants in the event, while another person is being intensively searched for," they said.

Kotor police officers have seized certain objects and traces from the scene, as well as video surveillance footage, collected information from a large number of people, but are continuing to take further official measures and actions in order to fully clarify the events and prosecute those responsible, they said.

"The state prosecutors at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor and the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica have been informed about the event, and after all measures and actions have been taken, the legal qualification of the act will follow, of which the public will be informed in a timely manner," the statement concludes.
