Police officers have filed criminal charges against three people for violent behavior committed in April in Pljevlja to the detriment of minors, the Police Directorate announced.

According to the police, criminal charges have been filed against a 16-year-old minor, as well as against UT (23) and S. Đ. (22).

They are suspected of physically assaulting the injured minor, also sixteen years old, twice on the night between April 19 and 20.

"The first time, it is suspected, was around midnight when a suspect, a peer, called him out in front of a restaurant in Pljevlja, where he punched him twice in the face with a closed fist," the police statement said.

It is alleged that the minor suspect, as is suspected, called the injured party again around one o'clock to go outside a discotheque, from where the two of them went to another location where they were met by UT and S. Đ. with two other, currently unknown persons.

"UT punched the injured minor in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, after which the suspected minor, S. Đ., and two other unknown persons continued to kick him all over the body," the police said.

According to them, the injured minor was slightly injured in the incident, and after receiving medical attention at a health facility, he was released for home treatment.

As stated by the Police Directorate, their officers continue to work on identifying and prosecuting the remaining two suspects.

The police appealed to parents to control the movements of their minor children in the late evening hours, to control their going out and the company they are in.

"And to pay attention to possible risky forms of behavior in their children's environment, in order to take preventive action against violence that can occur among peers when conflicts they have among themselves are not recognized and resolved in non-violent ways," the statement added.
