As announced by the Police Directorate, this morning, during a field inspection in the village of Konjska Rijeka, their officers spotted a work machine with a trailer truck, which was moving from the direction of Montenegro to Serbia, and which was transporting 14 pine trees.

The statement said that after spotting a police patrol, the driver stopped the vehicle and fled.

"The driver was identified as IL, who, based on the information collected, told police officers where he had illegally cut down the pine forest," the statement added.

The police said that, at the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane, officers from the Forest and Hunting Management Administration went to the scene, measured the pine trees and determined that they had been cut down in a state forest.
