Danilov resident arrested for illegally possessing a pistol, rifle and ammunition in his home

Police arrested GK (63) from Danilovgrad, who had a pistol, rifle and ammunition in illegal possession in his house.

"Last night, May 15, 2026, at around 7 p.m., acting in accordance with operational information, police officers arrived at the address of GK's residence in the Danilovgrad Municipality, where, after confirming that he was in illegal possession of a firearm, they seized a "Zastava" model M57 pistol with a spare frame and five rounds of ammunition and a "Baikal" rifle from this person. The weapons licenses for both of these weapons expired several years ago, and one was issued in his name and the other in the name of his father," the Police Directorate said in a statement.

It is added that a statement was taken from the GK in the police premises of the Danilovgrad Security Department regarding the aforementioned circumstances, and the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about everything.

"The prosecutor ordered that this person be deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. The suspect GK will be brought before the aforementioned acting prosecutor, with a criminal complaint, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense in question," the statement concludes.
