During an inspection in Kotor, goods worth around 180.00 euros were seized, which are suspected of violating intellectual property rights, in order to combat the trade in counterfeit products, the Cabinet of Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorović announced.
"During today's coordinated action, at the initiative of the Coordination Body for the Preparation and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision in Kotor, carried out by representatives of the Customs Administration, Market and Labor Inspection, a large quantity of goods suspected of infringing intellectual property rights were temporarily seized. The activities were carried out within the framework of operational measures of the Coordination Body for the Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision, with the aim of suppressing the trade in counterfeit products and protecting the legal market," the statement states.
As stated, the inspections included four facilities, with a total of eight misdemeanor orders issued in the total amount of 8.000 euros.
"We can conclude that the Coordination Body has implemented a significant part of its activities aimed at strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and a more efficient response to the occurrence of illegal trade and violations of intellectual property rights," reads a statement from Buturović's office.
According to them, control activities will continue in the coming period.
"...Especially in anticipation of the summer tourist season, in order to further improve inspection supervision and the efficiency of field work, as well as to facilitate the work of coordinators during increased seasonal controls," it states.
Butorović's office thanked all services and colleagues for, as they said, professional, operational and coordinated cooperation.
