The Bijelo Polje police arrested VK and MB from that city, persons of operational interest, on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm to a man, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
As stated in the statement, it is suspected that on May 16, 2026, after a brief verbal argument with the injured male in front of a supermarket in Bijelo Polje, VK physically attacked him, inflicting several blows to the head and body, during which the injured male sustained serious injuries to the head.
"MB is suspected of committing a criminal offense by threatening the victim on May 15, 2026, after a brief verbal argument, and then physically attacking him, causing minor bodily harm. After being informed of the events, police officers took measures and actions that led to the identification and finding of the suspects," the statement concludes.
The events were reported to the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, who stated that the actions of VK constituted the essential elements of the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm, while in the case involving suspect MB, he stated that it was a criminal offense of endangering security in conjunction with the criminal offense of slight bodily harm, after which these persons were deprived of their liberty.
"These two OILs were, with a criminal complaint, brought before the aforementioned state prosecutor," it concludes.
