Ulcinj police inspectors are investigating the probable poisoning of at least one dog, which occurred on Saturday, May 9, under the bridge on the Bojana River, on the right bank of the river, "Vijesti" has learned.

Several interviewees claim that more than ten dogs were poisoned that day, but none of them were willing to talk about it publicly.

"The dogs were healthy, they were not dangerous. After they were poisoned, the bodies were removed," one of them said.

Another source close to the investigation told Vijesti that the body of a dog was found at the scene and was immediately sent for an autopsy.

"The witness claimed to have seen several more dead dogs, but there were none at the indicated location," he said.

The Ulcinj prosecutor's office confirmed to "Vijesti" that they had been informed about the death of a dog.

"We inform you that on 09.05.2026. the officers of the Ulcinj Police Station informed this prosecutor's office about the death of a dog. After that, this prosecutor's office ordered the officers of the Ulcinj Police Station to go to the scene, together with the veterinary inspection, to draw up a report on the investigation, a photo report, as well as to sample traces in order to determine the cause of death of the said dog based on an expert report," the Ulcinj Public Prosecutor's Office wrote in its response.
