RM from Bijelo Polje is suspected of hiding a rifle and ammunition near his house, while searches in the city in recent days found four weapons and 188 pieces of ammunition, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
"Officers of the Regional Security Center 'North', as part of planned activities aimed at suppressing illegal possession of weapons, in coordination with the competent prosecutor's offices and pursuant to the orders of the competent courts, in recent days during searches found and confiscated four weapons - two rifles and two pistols and 188 pieces of ammunition from three individuals," the statement said.
The UP added that yesterday, during a search of the apartment and other premises used by RM from Bijelo Polje, police officers found and seized a "Blow" starter pistol and 21 rounds of ammunition for that weapon.
"A search of the area near his house found a hunting rifle of unknown make and caliber, as well as 17 rounds of ammunition, without accompanying documentation, which were determined by forensic analysis to belong to the named person. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was informed of the incident, who will subsequently rule on the legal qualification of the act," the statement reads.
The Police Department said that in connection with the weapons and ammunition found during searches conducted in the past period, two criminal charges were filed against two individuals with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, after expert examinations were conducted at the Forensic Center in Danilovgrad, due to suspicion that these individuals committed the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.
"Criminal charges were filed against HR from Bijelo Polje, in whose family home a "Winchester" rifle of 30/30 caliber, a "Vzor" pistol and 130 rounds of ammunition of various brands and calibers were found, as well as against MB from Bijelo Polje, who was in unauthorized possession of 20 rounds of ammunition of various brands and calibers," the UP said.
