BIA officers have withdrawn: The situation at the border crossings between Montenegro and Serbia will be normalized

The situation at the border crossings between Montenegro and Serbia will be normalized tonight after officers of the Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA) of Serbia withdrew from the border crossings, Vijesti Television has learned.

BIA officers withdrew after Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić called on Serbian state authorities from Tivat to allow Montenegrin citizens to enter Serbia through border crossings.

Due to yesterday's return of a plane with 87 men close to Vučić from Tivat airport, Serbia has been conducting detailed checks of Montenegrin citizens at border crossings since last night at 7:30 p.m., so there were waits of over six hours to enter Serbia.

At the Serbian border crossings of Gostun, Špiljani and Jabuka, there were kilometer-long queues during the day, and many passengers returned to Montenegro because they could not wait.

Some Montenegrin citizens have been banned from entering Serbia under the pretext that they pose a security threat to that country.

During all this time, the highest officials of Montenegro, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović and Speaker of Parliament Andrija Mandić, did not react to this kind of harassment of Montenegrin citizens at border crossings, nor to yesterday's attempted "landing on Tivat", which Vučić said today was a major political mistake by someone from his entourage whom he did not name.

Thus, a bus carrying around 20 residents of the Bijelo Polje Nursing Home, who were turned back from the Gostun crossing, was unable to make a trip to Serbia today. A bus full of children from the Cultural and Artistic Society from Kotor was held up at the border with Serbia for more than five hours last night and was only released after midnight.

Another 30 Montenegrin citizens, exclusively men, were detained late last night at the Belgrade airport, where they were only released after detailed checks.

Last night, ERO Vice President Blažo Radjenović was unable to enter Serbia, and former Montenegrin police director Nikola Terzić was also banned from entering.
