Indictment filed against police officer suspected of taking money as a down payment for plots of land, after which there was no sale

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has filed an indictment before the Basic Court in Podgorica against police officer BB, suspected of taking around 60.000 euros from several people as a down payment for the purchase of a plot of land, after which the sale was not realized, and also for disclosing operational information.

As they said, he is suspected of committing the crimes of fraud, evasion and abuse of official position.

"The defendant BB misled several individuals into believing that they needed to pay him amounts of money as a down payment for the purchase of plots of land in Danilovgrad, namely the injured party E.Š. the amount of 9.400 euros, the injured party VB the amount of 8.000 euros, the injured party D.Š. and T.Š. the amount of 13.000 euros, the injured party JU the amount of 6.000 euros, the injured party BM and MV the amount of 10.000 euros, the injured party BZ the amount of 1.500 euros and the injured party GP the amount of 14.000 euros, after which the sale was not realized, nor did the defendant have the authority to sell the plots and receive money into his account and on behalf of the seller," the ODT announced.

As they state, the defendant also appropriated someone else's movable property that was entrusted to him, by concluding a contract with the injured company "SM", by which the vehicle was handed over to him for use, which he kept even after the specified deadline.

"On January 28, 2026, this person, as a police officer, abused his official position by communicating operational information he had obtained in the performance of his duties to MR in a telephone conversation," they said.
