UP: A judge of the Basic Court in Nikšić issued Aco Đukanović with permission to temporarily travel to another country

The Police Directorate (PD) announced tonight that businessman Aco Đukanović was granted permission to temporarily travel to another country by a judge at the Basic Court in Nikšić.

"Regarding allegations published in certain media outlets regarding the departure of A.Đ from the territory of Montenegro, and bearing in mind that this is a person and a case that have been the subject of significant public attention, we inform the public that the person was granted permission to temporarily leave for another country by a judge of the Basic Court in Nikšić," the UP statement reads.

Aco Đukanović, brother of former Prime Minister and President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, had his apartment ban lifted on May 20. The Basic Court in Nikšić decided this at the time in the procedure for reviewing the supervision measures.

By a ruling of investigative judge Sava Mušikić dated May 20, Aco Đukanović's supervision measure prohibiting him from leaving his apartment in the Nikšić neighborhood of Rastoci was lifted, while the measure of temporary seizure of his passport was extended.

The same decision also imposed a mandatory police reporting measure on him, so Đukanović will have to report to the Podgorica Security Department once a week.

Criminal proceedings are underway against Aco Đukanović on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.

Supervision measures were initially imposed on him by a decision of the Basic Court in Nikšić dated March 20 this year.

The indictment of the ODT in Nikšić against the brother of former Prime Minister Milo Đukanović was returned earlier for supplementation, and the ruling issued on April 29 by Judge Mirko Kojović ordered the prosecution to conduct additional evidentiary actions in order to complete the investigation.
