Police in Montenegro and Serbia arrest three people on international wanted lists

In the activities of the police of Montenegro and Serbia, three internationally wanted persons for whom Montenegro, Germany and France had issued international arrest warrants were deprived of their liberty, the Police Directorate announced: two persons were arrested at the Sukobin border crossing, and one in Serbia.

"Officers of the Border Police Sector - Regional Security Center 'South' arrested two internationally wanted persons, citizens of the Republic of Albania, at the Sukobin border crossing. MH (41) from Shkodra was arrested while attempting to enter Montenegro, for whom the Interpol NCB Wiesbaden issued an international arrest warrant to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings initiated against him by the Local Court in Hanover, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the following criminal offenses: aggravated robbery, theft and use of force to retain stolen goods, as well as grievous bodily harm, for which a prison sentence of up to 15 years is prescribed in Germany," the statement said.

Police said that AN (29) was also arrested at the same border crossing.

"The Interpol Paris NCB has issued an international arrest warrant for him in order to secure his presence in the criminal proceedings initiated against him by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Lyon, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the crime of attempted murder, which is punishable by up to 30 years in prison in France," the police added.

The statement states that MH and AN were taken to the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica for the purpose of determining extradition detention.

"Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia located and deprived of liberty Montenegrin citizen RC (42), for whom the Interpol NCB Podgorica issued an international arrest warrant to serve a six-month prison sentence for the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. The aforementioned sentence was pronounced on him by the Higher Court in Podgorica. The person was ordered into extradition detention by the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia, and in the coming period, communication will follow between the Ministries of Justice of Montenegro and Serbia in order to implement the procedure for his extradition to Montenegro," the statement concludes.
