Saudi Arabian and Kosovo citizens arrested for fake driver's licenses

Police arrested citizens of Saudi Arabia and Kosovo at the Kula border crossing on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of document forgery.

As announced by the Police Directorate, MAM (30), a citizen of Saudi Arabia, during the control gave border police officers an international driving license from Saudi Arabia, the authenticity of which was suspected by police officers and a Frontex officer.

"It was determined that the aforementioned document was not issued by authorized institutions and that it was a so-called fantasy document. The person later admitted that he had purchased this false document in a foreign country. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje was informed about everything, and he ordered the person to be deprived of his liberty, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of forging a document," the statement said.

The suspect MAM was brought before the competent prosecutor with a criminal complaint.

"The second person who was deprived of his liberty for the same criminal offense is AS (36), a citizen of Kosovo. He and the vehicle he was in, a 'BMW' with German license plates, were checked by officers of the Border Police Station I Ulcinj at the Joint Border Crossing 'Sukobin - Murićani'. He presented the border police officers with a driver's license, allegedly issued in the Federal Republic of Germany, the authenticity of which the border police officers suspected. After checking, the suspicions were confirmed and it was determined that it was a forgery," the police said.

AS was brought before the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj, with a criminal complaint, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forging a document, the statement concludes.
