An Albanian citizen was arrested in Ulcinj for resisting the seizure of weapons.

Ulcinj police officers arrested an Albanian citizen EL (34) in that city, who resisted the seizure of weapons, the Police Directorate announced.

It is stated that on Sunday around 19 pm, police officers received information that a person was walking down a street in Ulcinj with a gun in his waistband.

"They immediately acted upon the information and soon found EL (34), an Albanian citizen, in a catering establishment, who had a gun in his waistband, which was immediately taken from him," the statement said.

It is added that it was determined that it was a "Blow" 9mm starter pistol and that EL refused to go with the police officers, offering passive resistance.

"EL was arrested on suspicion of committing a misdemeanor under Article 11 of the Law on Public Order and Peace (obstructing police officers in the performance of official duties) and will be brought before the competent Misdemeanor Court within the legal deadline," the police said.

The statement states that, in a separate activity, officers found and seized a hunting rifle during a search of a facility in Ulcinj.

"A search of GK's family home from Ulcinj, carried out on the basis of a previously initiated warrant obtained from the Basic Court in Ulcinj, found a hunting rifle of unknown make and caliber, without a serial number, for which GK did not possess the necessary documentation," the statement said.

As it is added, the rifle was confiscated with a certificate, and the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj was notified of the incident, who will, after an expert examination, state the legal qualification of the incident.
