Podgorica police officers, in coordination with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, have solved the third case of an attack on the property of a victim from Podgorica and filed a criminal complaint against DR (47) from Cetinje, on suspicion of setting her car on fire, the Police Directorate announced.

As they said, in continuation of activities to shed light on several criminal acts committed against two female persons from Podgorica - a daughter and a mother, against whom DR is suspected of having already committed two criminal acts - causing general danger and attempted causing general danger, the police collected material evidence and filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office against the suspect for the aforementioned criminal act.

"It is suspected that DR committed the aforementioned criminal offense on March 30, 2026, at around 3:40 a.m., when he arrived at the address at Ulica Crnogorskih serdara bb, after which he entered the underground garage of a residential building in which a 'Peugeot 3008' vehicle, with Podgorica license plates, owned by the injured female person from Podgorica, was parked. On that occasion, it is suspected that he caused an open flame by using a suitable means, which caused a fire in the vehicle, after which he fled," the statement states.

They remind that in previous activities, their officers have shed light on two other criminal acts of causing general danger committed against the same person and her mother, when in December 2025 and February 2026, as is suspected, DR caused a fire at the door of the victim's apartment, and on another occasion attempted to cause a fire by throwing an explosive device into the yard of the victim's house.

"After clarifying these events and identifying the suspect, DR was deprived of his liberty in April 2026 by order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and has since been held in the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions in Spuž," the Police Directorate said.
