In May, the residence permits of 167 foreigners were cancelled, eight were expelled

In May, the Montenegrin police implemented 1.567 measures aimed at controlling foreign citizens, of which 167 had their residence permits cancelled for up to 90 days, while eight were issued with expulsion orders.

The Police Directorate announced that officers of the Border Police Sector, as part of the "Foreigner" operation, during May implemented 1.567 measures aimed at controlling the movement, residence and work of foreign citizens in Montenegro and conducted 82 actions, independently and in cooperation with the competent inspection bodies.

"As part of the above activities, 232 decisions were made on the return of persons, 167 decisions on the cancellation of residence for up to 90 days and eight decisions on the expulsion of foreign citizens, while 22 foreign citizens were forcibly removed," the statement said.

It is stated that 73 initiatives for termination of temporary residence have been submitted, and misdemeanor charges have been filed against 980 foreign citizens.

"Six decisions on more lenient measures were also made, nine foreign citizens were placed in the Reception Center for Foreigners, and 70 people were transferred to neighboring countries in a summary procedure, in accordance with agreements on return and acceptance," the police said.
