Berane: Police file criminal charges against OIL, suspected of forest theft

Berane police officers filed a criminal complaint with the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane against a person of operational interest, DL (35) from Berane, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forest theft, the Police Directorate announced.

As they state, last night at around 9:00 PM, acting on operational information, police officers stopped an "Iveco" freight vehicle with Zeta license plates in the town of Rudeš, Berane municipality, driven by DL.

"A search of the vehicle's cargo area revealed wood assortments - seven pine logs about four meters long, without accompanying documentation. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was notified of the incident, who stated that criminal charges should be filed against this OIL on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forest theft," they announced.
