UP: Arrested from Nikšić, marijuana, crusher, joint found...

Cetinje police arrested Nikšić resident MV (24) and her fellow citizen VG (30) at the Cetinje - Podgorica - Nikšić intersection, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.

"Officers of the Cetinje Security Department, undertaking activities aimed at preventing and detecting all forms of drug abuse, with a special emphasis on suppressing street drug sales, have deprived two people from Nikšić of their liberty. During a traffic control at the Cetinje - Podgorica - Budva intersection, police officers stopped a passenger motor vehicle driven by MV (24), while VG (30) was in the passenger seat," the statement reads.

During a search of the persons and vehicles, the UP added, in a backpack suspected of belonging to VG, approximately 20 grams of the narcotic drug cocaine, a certain amount of the narcotic drug marijuana, a crusher for grinding plant matter, and a handmade cigarette with contents suspected of being the narcotic drug marijuana were found.

"The competent state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about the event, who ordered that VG be deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs," it states.

Also, MV was arrested for a violation of the Road Traffic Safety Act because she tested positive for psychoactive substances.

"The Police Directorate continues with intensive activities aimed at detecting, preventing and prosecuting criminal offenses and misdemeanors in the field of drug abuse, in order to preserve the safety of citizens and public order," the UP statement concluded.
