Ulcinj police officers today removed four quad bikes from traffic, and it was determined that three German citizens and a Serbian citizen had committed multiple violations of the Road Traffic Safety Act, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
"Acting on reports from citizens, and taking into account the threat to the safety of road users, especially in locations with a high frequency of pedestrians, on June 10, 2026, officers of the Ulcinj Security Department took measures and actions within their jurisdiction and removed from traffic four vehicles of the ATV/quad category, which were rented by a rent-a-quad company, and were driven by foreign citizens, who were sanctioned for violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act. The inspection determined that citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany AS (19), AS (23) and EI (32), as well as a citizen of the Republic of Serbia SA (23), committed several violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act, relating to driving a vehicle without a valid driving license for the category of vehicle they were driving, not having a valid driving license during the inspection and not providing it to authorized police officers, driving a vehicle without displayed license plates, as well as driving "an unregistered vehicle," the statement said.
The UP added that, due to the irregularities identified, misdemeanor charges will be filed against the company that rents quad bikes, as well as the person responsible in that company.
"Measures within the jurisdiction of customs authorities will be taken in relation to one of the controlled vehicles due to suspicion of a customs violation. The aforementioned vehicles have been removed from traffic and will be subject to further checks and technical inspection," the UP said.
The institution warned that improper and unprofessional operation of quadricycle vehicles poses a safety risk, especially in urban areas and tourist areas with a high concentration of pedestrians.
"In addition to creating excessive noise and disturbing citizens, this behavior can cause traffic accidents with serious consequences for drivers, pedestrians and other road users. For the above reasons, officers of the Ulcinj Security Department will continue to conduct increased checks on this category of vehicles in the coming period," the UP said.
