NL (44) from Podgorica was arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a cargo vehicle worth around 90.000 euros on February 25, 2026, the Police Directorate (PD) announced today.
The statement states that NL was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime of destruction and damage to another person's property, to the detriment of property worth approximately 90.000 euros, which is owned by two people.
The UP statement states that it is suspected that on February 25, at around 6:15 a.m., NL, together with a woman whose identification is being worked on, came in a rented vehicle, whose license plates he had removed, to the town of Botun in Zeta, where, using a suitable means, he caused an open flame on the ground surface, which caused a fire in a parked "Scania" freight vehicle, owned by SR and MV.
"The suspect NL then, as is suspected, fled in the vehicle he had driven from the scene in the direction of the municipality of Danilovgrad. According to the owner, the cargo vehicle, worth around 90.000 euros, suffered total material damage from the fire. Since the incident was reported, police officers, in coordination with the competent prosecutor's office, have taken extensive coordinated measures and actions, based on which NL was identified and then deprived of his liberty," the UP said.
The statement states that NL will be brought before the competent state prosecutor, along with a criminal complaint, on suspicion of having committed the aforementioned criminal offense.
