Mass brawl among speedboaters: Some accuse others of spying on inspector (VIDEO)

Readers of "Vijesti" submitted footage of a mass physical confrontation between some of the so-called speedboat operators - businessmen in Kotor who provide taxi-boat and excursion tour services around the bay.

According to unofficial information, the showdown occurred because some of the owners and crews of these speedboats accused some of their colleagues of allegedly reporting and "spying" on them to the Chief PSC Inspector of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Kotor, Željko Lompar, who has allegedly issued them numerous fines in the past.

Officials from the Ministry of Reconciliation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) have not yet officially commented on this incident and the violation of public order that occurred in the waters of the Port of Kotor, near the shore of Freedom Park, where taxi boats and excursion speedboats are normally stationed.

Since the beginning of the year, the PSC and the Navigation Safety Inspectorate have issued a total of over 61.000 euros in fines for violations of the Navigation Safety Act, mostly by speedboats in Boka Bay.

This year, the state has significantly strengthened the system of electronic and inspection surveillance at sea in Boka Bay, tightened the relevant bylaws and penal policy, which obviously falls hard on some of the unscrupulous speedboaters who have come under the state's attack.

Another Vijesti source close to the maritime authorities claims that the cause of the physical confrontation between the skippers of the excursion speedboats has nothing to do with the actions of the inspectors of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, but rather that it was a conflict over the passengers they intended to take on excursion tours.
